Thanks to the PEPS project, we were able to finance a new device at CRITT-MDTS: the VHX-6000, 3D digital microscope, from Keyence. It is equipped with a head for macro photography and, above all, a double head that allows us to go from x20 to x2000 magnification. It can reconstitute 3D images and it can stitch together high magnification images with a 3D reconstruction. Thus these features make it possible to measure roughness, to observe facies, wear grooves, to highlight defects on white or reflective surfaces, etc…
